New Jersey Thread Lift Before and Afters

Thread Lift

Facelifts are one of the most popular surgical cosmetic surgery procedures performed. However, a face lift is an invasive procedure that some individuals are averse to or wish to put off for as long as possible. The availability of new, less invasive procedures has given patients more options. Thus, some patients are taking more of a “preventative” approach to cosmetic surgery with new procedures such as the thread lift.

Benefits of a thread lift procedure include:

  • Subtle, long-lasting results
  • No general anesthesia
  • Less downtime
  • Relatively low risk

A thread lift is able to tighten up the face, as well as the neck, and while the results are not as dramatic, the procedure is able to give noticeable lift to sagging areas.

New Jersey Thread Lift: The Procedure

A thread lift surgeon will first administer a local anesthetic to numb the area, and then weave an actual thread under the skin. The thread used in the procedure is the same material as medical sutures but with barbs, which act like Velcro to hold the skin in place. Once under the skin, the thread hooks in and the surgeon pulls the skin into place. Thread lift patients are typically able to return to work the next day, and any swelling usually subsides within a couple of days. The results generally last for several years, depending on the patient.

New Jersey Thread Lift: Ideal Candidates

Ideal thread lift candidates are those people who are beginning to show early signs of aging with mild to moderate loosening or sagging of the skin. For people with deeper wrinkles and sagging skin, a thread lift may not be an effective cosmetic surgery choice, but the procedure can improve the appearance of the brow, the cheeks, nasolabial folds and melolabial folds.

Most thread lift patients are middle-aged and need just a slight lift on their facial features. Traditional facelifts, while still the most effective for more advanced wrinkles, creases and sagging, are not the only options available for patients wishing to regain a more youthful and firm appearance. The rapidly increasing number of individuals seeking less extreme cosmetic procedures is indicative of a booming trend – utilizing new and improved methods of fighting off the signs of aging without using invasive surgery.
